Acomplia

Acomplia (rimonabant) is a prescription medicine specially designed for the needs of obese people that have trouble losing weight by simply dieting and exercising. This medicine can reduce your weight by helping you to deal with food cravings. The best way to take Acomplia is before breakfast every day, unless your health care provider recommended doing otherwise. If you have trouble remembering about your dose – make sure you come up with some way to take Acomplia regularly, as this is the only way to ensure the success of your treatment. A history of an allergic reaction to some drugs or products may prevent you from taking this medication safely. Make sure you are aware of the presence of the following inactive ingredients in each tablet of Acomplia: titanium dioxide, povidone K 30, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, lactose monohydrate, or sodium laurilsulfate. If you are allergic to the active ingredient – rimonabant – or any of the inactive ingredients, the best thing to do is abstain from using this medicine, as it can result in a number of side effects and dangerous health effects that will need to be reported to your local emergency center. An overdose of Acomplia is possible if you do not observe very carefully the dose you have been prescribed. The following are most commonly reported symptoms of an overdose that will need to be reported to your health care provider as soon as you get them: euphoria, headache, fatigue, and insomnia. Some other symptoms are possible, but these are the ones reported most often. To provide for maximum efficiency of your treatment you are recommended to have an open conversation with your health care provider before starting to take Acomplia. You need to mention any drugs you are also taking or intend to take, as well as any health conditions you have ever been diagnosed with. The following ones are especially important to report: liver problems, impaired kidney function and a history of epilepsy. If you are currently taking rifampicin, epilepsy drugs, drugs for normal blood lipid levels, antibiotics, St. John’s wort, HIV medications, antifungals, depression medications, antidiabetes medications, medicines for weight loss, or antidepressants, taking Acomplia may not be safe for you and your health care provider may recommend an alternative. Once you have been prescribed this medication, make sure you take it regularly and avoid skipping or missing doses, as it can affect the quality of your treatment. A missed dose is supposed to be taken as soon as you remember, although if it is almost time for the next dose – skip the one you missed and go back to the regular dosing schedule. In case any of the instructions your doctor provided are not clear enough, make sure you learn the information you need elsewhere. Do not start taking Acomplia before you are 100% sure you need this medicine and you are going to benefit from taking it.
